The Committee on the Rule of Law and Justice recommends that the Parliament should refine the draft law on amendments to the Code of Administrative Proceedings of Ukraine (re improvement of administrative proceedings)

The bill (Reg. No. 2654) suggests make amendments to article 18 of the Code of Administrative Proceedings, under which appealing of acts, actions or inaction of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine, the Higher Council of Justice, the Higher Qualification Commission of Judges, the Central Election Commission, a member of the Central Election Commission, or cases on early termination of powers are under the jurisdiction of Kyiv Appeal Court as the court of first instance.

Apart from this, it is suggested amend articles 171-1, 172, 177, and 180 of the Code.

Generally upholding the idea of refining mechanisms of administrative proceedings, the people’s deputies expressed some reservations to the bill.
